4th of July in a Pinch?

Stick to the classics... and make it from scratch!

When was the last time you had a homemade hot dog bun? Probably never.

Happy almost 4th of July! Hope everyone is taking a moment to get away from these crazy heat waves and into a cool body of water. This year, I have the honor of hosting my parents for the holiday. Our plan? Doing what we do best: cooking, eating, chasing a toddler, and simply enjoying time together.

With those things in mind, I am keeping my promise from last week to share our July 4th classics with you! Today on the menu we’ve got a smash burgers and hot dogs (with everything made from scratch other than the dog 😉)!

It is so rare to enjoy the 4th of July with everything homemade, but I would argue it makes a world of a difference! Nothing like pulling buns straight from the oven and throwing a solid piece of grilled meat in between. So what are you waiting for? Get in the kitchen and start baking these classics before your guests arrive this Thursday.

What is your classic 4th of July must-have?

I always go back and forth between my favorite 4th of July recipes, but I might have to say a classic burger takes the cake, especially when I make my homemade milk buns!

I have my answer, but tell me yours!
