Go Big & Go French!

Host the Ultimate Olympics Party

Hi Gingis!

Wishing you all a fabulous remaining summer season! Cannot believe we are officially in August, with summer quickly flying by. For us it has been a summer characterized by big decisions, bold steps forward, new hobbies (currently, obsessed with the bass 🎸 ) and LOTS of splash pads throughout all the various parks in the city.

Amongst all the crazy summer chaos, we’ve managed to get our friends all together for a killer Olympics themed party! It was an epic pot luck, loaded with all the best French treats + a Champagne toast (of course!). And it got us thinking…everyone should host a Olympic themed party. It is a great way to gather the people you love and there truly is nothing more fun than a cheesy themed party. So without further ado, Gingis, we’ve complied our personal favorites from the party + 5 tips that we think will make hosting far easier and so much more fun. Bon Appétit Gingis!

Few treats are as delectable as freshly baked Canelés. The best part? You can make the batter a day or two in advance and bake them just in time for your party!

Say hello to the most versatile and delicious bread! Sweet and savory, this easily sliceable loaf is perfect for French toast, a ham & cheese sandwich, or simply as toast with butter & jam.

The truth is out: this is the BEST thing I’ve tasted all summer. It is quick to whip up and truly a reflection of summer. Loaded with a colorful array of summer tomatoes, this Tomato Tatin, is the #1 thing missing from your menu. There are few things as drop-dead-delicious as a roasted tomato.

Tips on Hosting an Olympics Party

  1. Go Big, Go French! Get a bottle of champagne and have an honorary toast with guests to celebrate the start of a game.

  2. Have multiple sports playing on different TVs, so guests have the luxury of rooting on their favorite teams at once.

  3. Reuse your 4th of July Decor to support Team USA! This way you can save money on decorations while still being in theme for the Olympics. No wasteful decorations here.

  4. Make it a potluck! Have your guests bring international treats from different countries to support the games. Nothing brings people together like a new and exciting feast.

  5. Have games for your guests to play to get into the competitive Olympic spirit. Ring toss, corn hole or giant jenga are fun games to have on hand, for your guests to stay busy and enjoy the summer sunshine.
