Happy YASSSletter Thursday Gingis!

This Saturday night is New Year's Eve! Can you believe it? The year has come and gone and we will be welcoming in 2023. Zikki and I have lots of exciting things coming for you all in the new year. Stay tuned!

But before we dive into the following year, we wanted to make sure you guys were fully stocked with New Year's Eve recipes in order to beautifully celebrate and even possibly host some friends for the big night. So with out further ado, this week in our YASSSletter, we have recipes for 5 Exclusive Dips + my Classic Pita that will keep your loved ones spreading the love (LOL).

  1. 🌶️ Schug Artichoke Dip Recipe

  2. 🐐 Beet Goat Cheese Dip Recipe

  3. 🫑 Burnt Peppers Dip Recipe

  4. 🥕 Carrot Sumac Dip Recipe

  5. 🧀 Labaneh Cheese Recipe

  6. 🅿️ Pita! Pita! Pita! Recipe

BONUS TIP: These dips are perfect for New Year's Eve,  because you can make them ahead of time (even the day before), and then simply keep refilling as you see them go. Pair these dips & pita, with lots of small plates holding: olives, nuts, crisp veggies, marinated artichokes, sliced cheeses, salamis, and fresh fruit. Before you know it, you will have the most elegant NYE spread!

🌶️ Schug Artichoke Dip Recipe

Schug is absolutely one of my favorite spice condiments of all times. It's a Yemenite chili-garlicky-herby paste served in Israel in almost every pita sandwich. What I like about schug is that it's not painfully spicy and can be eaten as is, simply as a flavor booster. In this recipe, I blended my schug with a  can of artichokes and the combination is just incredible!

🐐 Beet Goat Cheese Dip Recipe

When I want to bring a touch of color to my meal, I always add a type of beet dip. This time I wanted to give it an extra creamy texture and a kick in flavor. After caramelizing the beets in the oven, I blend them with some soft goat cheese. The combination of the flavors here are absolutely magical and a must to try. Also the texture? Very unique - totally silky!

🫑 Burnt Peppers Dip Recipe

This dip called Mashwiya, made from a mixture of hot and sweet peppers, which are combined with garlic and a generous amount of olive oil. It's usually used as a salsa in Fricassé (Tunisian sandwich). You can adjust the amount of the peppers according to the desired spiciness.

🥕 Carrot Sumac Dip Recipe

Who would imagine that carrots will go so well with sumac? Guys, this sour carrot dip is to die for. Cooking the carrots in their own juice keeps the color super vibrant, even after blending. The sumac and lemon juice just add another layer of complexity to the dip and balance the sweetness of the carrots. This dip is a must on your dip table, not just for the color, but for a complete palate of flavors.

🧀 Labaneh Cheese Recipe

It is ridiculous how easy it is to make Labaneh cheese. Labaneh is a yogurt based cheese, originally made from sheep or goats milk. This cheese is made from two ingredients only- thick yogurt and sea salt. That’s it. As for equipment all you need is a cheese cloth or a thin towel. Pay attention that the yogurt has a high enough fat content, otherwise most of the weight will drain out in the process. The texture of the cheese really is up to you guys, some people like it creamy to spread on bread and some prefer harder Labaneh balls to add to you salads. The preference of your texture will determine how long you hang the Labaneh.  Note! I love my Labaneh salty, try it. If you want- next time reduce the quantity of salt to 2%.

🅿️ Pita! Pita! Pita! Recipe

Last but not least, for the pita party - there must be pita! This recipe is for my classic pan baked airy pita perfect for any celebration and for every dip!

Hope you have a weekend full of YASSS! Until next Thursday Gingis.

Love, Ben xx
